FSH Test For Menopause
Determines Treatment
Menopause is a natural event in women's lives which signals the end to her childbearing years. Many women find
as they near the second half of their lives, they can still be fruitful, but in different ways, such as
volunteering, going back to school, walking for breast cancer, heading charity organizations, finally being able to
finish writing a novel, and any number of new exciting adventures.
Beginning as early as age forty, hot flashes, night sweats and missed or spotty periods, begin to become common
symptoms menopause is approaching. It is considered full blown when menstruation has been absent for twelve
consecutive months.
A test for menopause is determined by the amount of follicle stimulating hormone, or FSH. This test kit can be
done in the privacy of the home and determines where a woman's stage of menopause is currently.
With age, the follicle stimulating hormone, in women, decreases until eventually no more eggs are produced.
The good news is the body is very efficient at resetting its hormones. The FSH test is performed by measuring
the amounts in the urine. After determining their stage of menopause, women need to find a remedy for relief
which is safe, natural, and not the typically prescribed hormone replacement therapy.

In addition to a test for menopause, there are safe, natural remedies for assisting the body to restore
hormonal balance, such as changes in the diet. Include more protein, such as lean chicken and fish and leafy
green vegetables.
Also, it is wise to eat less of the starchy or sweet carbohydrates, and instead begin to add in fresh fruits
such as berries, which contain antioxidants that fight against free radicals. A multivitamin may also be added.
Drinking plenty of water, and doing a detox program once every month may help women to feel better.
For some women, the symptoms of menopause may be very similar to premenstrual syndrome. They may have angry
outbursts followed by crying. This could be from expressing long held emotions.
Other women breeze right through menopause with nary a hot flash. All women are different, but all need
nutritional guidance, support and the realization that this phase in life too shall pass.
