A Natural Remedy
For Hot Flashes And Menopause

There is a lot in the news lately about hot flashes,
menopause and flax seed, and it is good news! A study was done
by the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, led by Sandhya Pruthi, MD and
colleagues that gives some great hope for relief from hot
flashes.
A group of women were given 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed
twice a day, which they mixed into their food and drink. These
women were having at least 14 hot flashes a week, plus they
were not taking any estrogen to relieve their symptoms of
menopause.
The good news
These women found that their hot flashes were reduced by 50%
and the strength of the hot flash was dimished by 57%! The full
report appears in the Journal of the Society for
Integrative Oncology.
For a woman suffering from the discomforts of
hot flashes, this is very promising and easy to use. Compared
to drugs, there were minimal side effects. These consisted of
bloating and diarrhea in a few of the women. It is quite
possible that this could be avoided by using a liquid form of
flaxseed oil, rather than the ground seeds.
An excellent source for organic flaxseed oil is Herbal Remedies. They carry a complete
line of products for health and beauty with an emphasis on
natural remedies and high quality products and reduced
prices. They have a pure, organic, unfiltered
flaxseed oil available at a great
price.
